The IMC Advisory Board includes Eric Stang, who has successfully lead both chip and medical device companies, and Dr. Jerome Swartz, the founder of Symbol Technologies, which grew to $2.1 billion in sales prior to its acquisition by Motorola. A Clinical Advisory Board has been formed, and includes FDA approval processes expert Heather MacFalls.

 
Eric Stang

Eric Stang is currently CEO of Ooma, a breakthrough technology start-up, which is committed to transforming the landscape of consumer telephony. Prior to Ooma Eric was from President and CEO of Reliant Technologies, a medical technology company that created a breakthrough in laser delivery to solve the problems of aging and sun damaged skin. Reliant was acquired by Thermage, Inc in 2008. Prior to Reliant Technologies, Eric acted as Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Lexar, now a subsidiary of Micron. During his seven years at Lexar, Eric played a leadership role in taking the company public, effectively enacted a turnaround strategy, led its growth and entry into new markets, oversaw the development of a consumer brand, and established Lexar products in more than 70,000 storefronts worldwide with revenues in excess of $850 million. Under his leadership, Lexar also became one of the 50 largest public technology companies in Silicon Valley, before its acquisition by Micron.

 
 
Dr. Jerome Swartz

Dr. Jerome Swartz co-founded Symbol Technologies, Inc., in 1975. He served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Scientist until July 2003 and held the title of Chief Executive Officer through most of his 28 years with the Company. In 1999, he led Symbol to the National Medal of Technology, the U. S.’s highest honor for technology innovation. He is credited with more than 180 U.S. patents and is the author of some 30 published papers.

In 1994, Swartz established the non-profit Swartz Foundation for Computational Neuroscience (www.theswartzfoundation.org), to explore the application to neuroscience of mathematical physics and computer engineering principles, as a path to better understand the brain/mind relationship. The Foundation supports a number of initiatives including five Sloan/Swartz Centers for Theoretical Neurobiology (California Institute of Technology, University of California at San Francisco, Brandeis University, New York University/Courant and the Salk Institute) and Swartz Centers for Computational Neuroscience at the University of California at San Diego, Cold Spring Harbor Labs and Columbia University, which together form the nucleus of Foundation research activities.

Dr. Swartz received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from City University of New York and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Brooklyn’s Polytechnic University, where he was the recipient of National Science Foundation and Ford Fellowships.

 
 
Andrew Filler, Esq.

Mr. Filler is presently Vice President and General Counsel of Nanosys, Inc, managing
all intellectual property and general legal affairs for a pre-IPO nanotechnology engineering enterprise with over $150M in funded venture capital. Guided creation of one of the broadest and most seminal intellectual property platforms in the nanotechnology industry with more than 750 patents and patent applications (over 350 worldwide issued patents) covering fundamental areas of nanotechnology and nanoscale semiconductor processing. Represented Nanosys in its recent multi-million dollar collaboration, licensing and equity transactions with Samsung Electronics (total deal value of approximately $100 Million) and LG (total deal value greater than $50 Million), in all aspects of the negotiation and execution. Previously, Mr. Filler was with the international law firm Weil Gotshal & Manges, in their Menlo Park, California, office, and with Hughes Aircraft as a mechanical engineer. His undergraduate degree, in mechanical and aerospace engineering, was from Cornell, and his JD was obtained, Magna cum Laude, from University of San Francisco Law School. Mr. Fuller is a member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and in Federal Court before the Northern and Central Districts of California.
